What Telehealth Is

Telehealth involves the use of electronic communications to enable healthcare providers at different locations to share individual patient medical information for the purpose of improving patient care. Providers may include primary care practitioners, specialists, and pharmacists.

Risks & Limitations

• The provider may not have all information needed to make a diagnosis or treatment decision.
• Delays in evaluation or treatment could occur due to technology failures.
• Security protocols could fail, causing a breach of privacy.
• In rare cases, a lack of access to complete medical records may result in adverse drug interactions or other errors.

Your Rights

You may withhold or withdraw consent to telehealth at any time without affecting your right to future care. You have a right to a copy of your medical records at reasonable cost.

No Controlled Substances

NuMi Rx providers do not prescribe controlled substances via telehealth except in strict compliance with federal and state law, including the Ryan Haight Act.

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.
